OLAP roles

Overview

OLAP roles is the searchable list page for Analysis Services security roles. Use it to find roles by name or description, review the role list, open an existing role for editing, create a new role, duplicate a role, or delete an obsolete role.

Function

The page combines a search filter with a read-only result grid. The search field narrows the list by role name or description, and the clear-filter button reloads the full role list.

Double-click a role row to open the OLAP role page. Use New to create a role, Duplicate to create a copy of the selected role, or Delete to remove the selected role after confirmation.

Access

Open the list from the Roles node in the navigation tree or from the Roles command in the Data mart toolbar.

ID Property Description
1 Search criteria Filter area at the top of the page.
2 Search field Text field used to filter roles by name or description. Press Enter to run the same filter as the Search button.
3 Search Runs the filter and refreshes the OLAP roles grid.
4 Clear filter Clears the search field and reloads the full role list.
5 Name Grid column for the role name.
6 Description Grid column for the role description.
7 OLAP roles grid Read-only result list sorted by role name. Double-click a row to open it on the OLAP role page.
8 Delete Deletes the selected role after user confirmation, then refreshes the list.
9 Duplicate Creates a copy of the selected role with a unique copy name, then refreshes the list.
10 New Opens the OLAP role page to create a new role.
