Import

Overview

Import, shown by the IP marker, represents the flow from an external Source object into an IMP object in the Staging layer. The relationship shows where data enters AnalyticsCreator and which imported object receives it.

Function

An import flow connects a Source object, such as dbo.Categories, to an imported Staging object, such as IMP.Categories. The Source object provides the Add command used to create the import, while the IMP object provides the complete management menu for the imported object.

The IP marker identifies the import relationship between the Source and IMP objects. Use the predecessor Source rectangle for Add -> Import. The marker may expose limited diagram actions in some application versions, but it is not the owner of the complete creation menu.

Access

Imports can be created from a Source object on the dataflow diagram and maintained through the resulting IMP object, package navigation entries, and import-related list views.

How to access
