Import

Overview

The Import, shown as the IP icon on the dataflow diagram, represents an import flow from a defined source into a warehouse table. Use it to see where data enters AnalyticsCreator, which source provides the data, which target table receives it, and which package performs the load.

Function

An import flow connects a source object to the target table created or loaded from that source. On the dataflow diagram, the IP icon makes the import package or import relationship visible beside the connected source and target table.

The import flow helps users review inbound data movement, including the source object, target table, execution package, and direction of the load.

[IP] icon

The IP icon marks the import package or import relationship on the dataflow diagram. Double-click the IP icon or import marker to open the import definition when the marker represents an existing import relationship.

Access

Imports are available from the navigation tree, from ETL list views, and from the dataflow diagram. On the diagram, an import can be created from a source node and reviewed through the IP icon, import marker, source object, target table, and directional flow.
