Dimension

Overview

A dimension on the dataflow diagram represents a dimension output that prepares descriptive business data for analytical use. It shows where the dimension is created, how it connects to upstream processing, and where it supports downstream facts, models, exports, or related objects.

Function

A dimension node gives the dimension a visible position in the dataflow diagram. It shows the object label, uses the dimension color style, and connects to related objects through directional arrows.

Context menu

Right-click a dimension node on the dataflow diagram to open the dimension context menu. The context menu provides quick actions for opening the dimension, locating it in the navigation tree, focusing the diagram on the selected flow, adding it to a diagram filter, reviewing references, previewing data, managing object groups, and adjusting node colors.

Access

Dimensions are available on the dataflow diagram as dimension nodes. A dimension can be opened by double-clicking its node or managed from the dimension node context menu.
