Overview

The Lock Group function in AnalyticsCreator restricts editing access to a specific group of metadata objects. Once a group is locked, all objects within it are protected from being edited, deleted, or modified until the lock is manually removed. This supports governance and safeguards critical modeling areas, especially in shared or production-oriented environments.

When and Why to Use This Feature

• To prevent changes to validated or approved metadata domains
• During deployment windows to avoid accidental modifications
• When enforcing governance policies in team-based development
• To protect shared groups used by multiple packages or teams

How to Use the Lock Group Function

1. Open the Navigation Tree in your project workspace
2. Expand the Groups section to view available metadata groups
3. Right-click on the group you want to protect
4. Select Lock from the context menu
5. Verify that the lock icon appears, confirming that the group is now locked
